The Annual DBT Supervision Program offered by the Australian DBT Institute provides mental health practitioners engaged in the delivery of DBT programs and the utilisation of DBT within individual therapy with access to cost-effective supervision and support on an annual basis. This program, which has undergone continuous development and refinement within the Australian DBT Institute, will be made available to practitioners within Australia as of 2024.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) consultation teams, initially conceptualized by Marsha Linehan, is a collaborative approach aimed at mitigating practitioner burnout, sustaining individual practitioners’ adherence to DBT, and ensuring that each client benefits from a team of mental health professionals dedicated to their recovery. While the Annual DBT Supervision Program at the Australian DBT Institute does not purport to serve as a replacement for a fully functional DBT team, it offers invaluable support to individuals and teams through supervision and precise fidelity modeling. The Australian DBT Institute’s approach has been established since 2004, and its trauma-informed adaptation of DBT has been successfully implemented by mental health practitioners across various regions, including Australia, South Africa, Singapore, and Thailand.
