Magnification (zoom in and out)

If you want to see text in larger size, you can use the “Zoom” feature in apple computers. Zoom is a built-in, full-screen magnifier that can magnify the items on the screen up to 40 times. You can activate it using keyboard commands, a button on the screen, or the scroll ball (or wheel) on a mouse.
To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to “System Preferences”
  2. Click on the “Universal Access” icon (picture)
  3. Click on “Seeing” heading
  4. Scroll down to “Zoom”
  5. Click on “ON”.
  6. Then click on “Options”
  7. Change the magnification size to what you want
  8. You can also do other things such as add a rectangle border to where you want to see information and it will zoom in to that information only.
  9. When finished, click on the “Done” button, then close “Systems Preferences”.
  10. Now that you have “Zoom”, switched on, press keys ‘Option, Command and ‘=’ at the same time and text will automatically get larger.
  11. To decrease text size, press ‘Option, ‘Command’ and ‘-‘ and text will automatically become smaller.
  12. To switch off “Zoom” feature, press keys ‘Option, ‘Command’ and 8.
